Document Generator

< Back to Dashboard

It's important to formally structure legal arrangements within your business so you don't get stung.

We've developed a number of helpful templates to get you started.

When you use this tool to generate a document, we will be notified. We will review it within 3 business days and provide our feedback. If additional customization is needed, we will quote an additional flat rate or you can purchase the "document customization" from the flat fee menu.

Employment Agreement

This is a basic letter agreement with a potential employee. It assumes you have a job description prepared in a separate document that you can attach. It is important to have written agreements with your employees so that, on termination, their rights for notice or compensation or notice in lieu is limited to the minimum standards of the Employment Standards Act.

This agreement may not be appropriate for:

  • a casual employee
  • a remote worker
  • an employee who already works for you.

Promissory Note

What’s a promissory note? It is a signed document containing a written promise to pay a stated sum to a specified person or the bearer at a specified date or on demand.

This template calls for payment on the demand of the person who is owed money or on a specific date. If you’re looking for a set schedule of payments, ask us about drafting a loan agreement.

Think of this as a written document which can be used to enforce an “I.O.U.”

Bill of Sale

When you buy or sell assets as part of your business, it's helpful to get a bill of sell to conclusively prove ownership for personal, insurance, and tax reasons.

Liability Release

Unfortunately, we sometimes have disputes with customers or suppliers over our work and invoices. This is a very basic liability release where one party releases the other from liability in exchange for payment. It will help to ensure that your settlement is a final one.

Image Release

If you take photos of your customers and want to use them in marketing material, privacy laws and best practice dicatate that you should have their informed consent. This image release can be used as a stand alone document or as part of a larger agreement.

Power of Attorney

Beware. This is an extremely powerful document, which, once signed, will allow your "attorney" to do anything you might do in respect of finances or legal affairs. However, that can have its advantages. Going away and need someone to sign documents on your behalf? A power of attorney will do the trick.

Demand Letter

If a customer hasn't paid your invoice, and your regular means of following up haven't been successful, you may want to up the ante by sending a letter by mail threatening legal action. This template will guide you through preparing such a letter for an outstanding account. If your problem with them doesn't relate to an unpaid bill, then you'll likely need a custom letter drafted on our letterhead.
